Scenario setup rules
Battlefield size: 48" x 48".
Battlefield archetype: No Man's Land.
Deployment zones: 8" deep, along opposite edges of the battlefield.
Place four Generator markers in a symmetrical diamond arrangement. Their positions, measured in
inches from the top-left corner of the battlefield, are:
G1 (north): (24", 12")
G2 (east): (36", 24")
G3 (south): (24", 36")
G4 (west): (12", 24")
All four Generators begin the battle switched ON.
Each Generator is a separate scenario objective. Generator markers can be represented by suitable
pieces of terrain or tokens.
Each ON Generator illuminates an 8" radius, including any part of a deployment zone within that radius.
Deployment rules
Use the standard deployment procedure.
Infiltration rules
Infiltrators are allowed, but a model using its special Infiltrator deployment rules cannot deploy within 8" of any Generator.
Game start
The player with fewer models selects who goes first. If both players have the same
number of models, roll a d6, the player with the higher result selects who starts the game.
Special rules
DARKNESS AND LIGHT
- Each Generator that is ON illuminates models within 8" of its marker.
- A model within 8" of at least one ON Generator is Illuminated.
- Illuminated models can be targeted with Ranged Attacks normally.
- A model that is not Illuminated cannot be selected as the target of a Ranged Attack if it is
more than 16" away from the attacking model.
- The 16" restriction does not increase a weapon's normal Range. Line of Sight, Cover, Short
Range, Long Range, and all other normal attack rules still apply.
- Darkness does not otherwise restrict movement or Melee Attacks.
FLIP THE SWITCH! (SPECIAL ACTION)
A model within 1" of a Generator may perform the special Action FLIP THE SWITCH! to
change that Generator's state from ON to OFF, or from OFF to ON.
- No Success Roll is required.
- The Action cannot be performed if an enemy model is within 1" of that Generator.
- Each Generator may be manually switched no more than once per Turn.
- Automatic blackouts do not count against this limit.
GENERATOR CONTROL
A player controls a Generator if they have more friendly models within 1" of it than their
opponent has enemy models within 1" of it.
- Models that are Down or Out of Action do not count towards control.
- If the numbers are equal, neither player controls the Generator.
- A Generator can be controlled whether it is ON or OFF.
THE THREE ACTS OF HORROR
ACT I - EVERYTHING IS FINE (TURNS 1-2)
All four Generators begin ON. Players may capture them and use FLIP THE SWITCH! to
manipulate the lighting.
ACT II - THE BLACKOUT (TURN 3)
At the start of Turn 3, all Generators automatically switch OFF. They may then be switched
ON again with FLIP THE SWITCH! during model activations. This automatic blackout does
not use their manual-switch limit.
ACT III - THEY'RE IN THE DARK (TURNS 4-5)
The fight for the Generators continues. At the start of Turn 5, all Generators automatically
switch OFF again. They may be switched ON again normally, subject to the manual-switch
limit.
Scoring
A player wins immediately if no enemy models remain on the battlefield, or if the opposing
warband flees (normally following a failed Morale Check).
Otherwise, after five Turns the player with more Victory Points wins. If the players have the
same number of Victory Points, the battle is a draw.
VICTORY POINTS
At the end of each Turn, each player scores:
- 1 VP for each Generator they control.
- An additional 1 VP for each controlled Generator that is ON.
At the end of the battle, each player scores:
- 1 VP for each Glorious Deed they completed, except Victory or Death.
GLORIOUS DEEDS
WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS?
A friendly model switches an ON Generator OFF while at least one enemy model is within 6"
of that Generator.
I CAN SEE YOU!
A friendly model takes an Illuminated enemy model Out of Action with a Ranged Attack with
the Long Range modifier. The target must be Illuminated when the attack is made.
IT'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!
A friendly model takes a non-Illuminated enemy model Out of Action with a Melee Attack,
provided that the attacking model did not have Line of Sight to that enemy at the start of its
Activation. The target must be non-Illuminated when the attack is made.
THE FINAL FLICKER
During Turn 5, a friendly model switches an OFF Generator ON while at least one enemy
model is within 6" of that Generator. This deed is completed immediately when the
Generator is switched ON.
VICTORY OR DEATH
Your warband wins the battle. This Glorious Deed awards no Victory Points. In campaign
games, it provides the standard campaign rewards for Victory or Death: you may award 1
Experience Point to an available ELITE model in your warband, and you receive the usual
Glory Points and an additional D6 for your Promotion Pool, as applicable.
GLORIOUS DEED LIMIT
Each Glorious Deed can only be claimed once per battle, by the first player to achieve it. If
both players fulfil the conditions simultaneously, resolve this using the standard roll-off rules.

SCENARIO BACKGROUND
Two warbands clash among the ruins of an abandoned military installation. Four emergency
generators power floodlights that hold back the surrounding darkness. As the fighting intensifies, the
system begins to fail. Lights flicker, generators shut down, and more of the battlefield is swallowed by
shadows.
In the dark, every shape could conceal an enemy. Control the lights, exploit the darkness, and
survive.
